[Letter, 18]93 Dec. 29, 66, Haymarket, S. James', S. W., London [to] Dear Sir / Pickering & Chatto.

This letter was most probably written to Richard Stamper Philpott. The letter concerns and was taken from his copy, in the Mortimer Rare Book Room, of: Moral instructions of a father to his son (1775). The letter provides information from a Miss Bewick, that the wood-engravings in the book are by Thomas Bewick, with the exception of one that is by David Martin.
